TOURNAMENT RULES & GENERAL INFORMATION

Thank you for participating in the 2017 PA IFH Championship.  We moved our date later in the year to try to avoid all of the hard-court NIT events and we did OK for year 1 with such a drastic move.  The doors will open at 8:15 AM for the tournament to begin at 8:45 AM.

The tournament schedule is very different than the original tentative schedule because of the number of teams registered in each division for the event.  Please download the final schedule and team assignments above.

The Junior High division has 8 teams and we will have our traditional pool play with cross over games into a bracket tournament.

The Red division only had 3 teams so they are going to play each other twice plus an additional exhibition game during each rotation.  Points for medals will only be from the games in which the play each other.  These games will have an official assigned to the game and will play just as our tournament games.

The Blue division has 10 teams and is broken into two pools of 5 teams each.  Teams will play each team in their pool and then the 1st place team in each pool will cross over and play for gold and the 2nd place team in each pool will play for bronze.  During each rotation of games, 2 teams will not be playing because it is an odd number in the pool.  These two teams have been designated to play the Red team that is off in an exhibition game.  We ask that both coaches assigned work together to decide on how you would like to play in the exhibition game.  You can mix players (we will have pinnies) you can each play 10 minutes, etc.  The key is we want to get the girls as much playing opportunities as possible.  The exhibition games will not count towards points for the tournament.  If your team does not want to play any of the assigned times for exhibition please let me know as soon as possible so I can ask other coaches to be prepared to play.  These games will have an official assigned to the game and will play just as our tournament games.

The Gold division has 6 teams and each team will play each other in a pool format to determine the final place finishers for their division in the tournament.

It looks to be a great day of hockey and once again thank you for your participation in our tournament.
