CYCLING & TRIATHLON
Premier Amateur Sports, LLC, Get Fit Families, LLC and Cocoa Elite, LLC are proud to bring you the opportunity to compete in the Pennsylvania Senior Game events for Cycling and the Triathlon.
We will conduct two events to qualify participants to represent our state in the National competition to be held in Birmingham Alabama in 2017. The competition will take place at the Bud Harris Cycling Track located in Pittsburgh, PA on Sept 3rd.
There will be two races:
5K time trial.
The top four state resident winners will qualify for both the 5K and 10K time trial at the National Senior Games. Any out-of-state residents who place in the top four overall positions will also qualify for their state.
20K time trial.
The top four state resident winners will qualify for both the 20K and 40K mass start races at the National Senior Games. Any out-of-state residents who place in the top four overall positions will also qualify for their state.
Due to safety issues the 20k race will follow a time trial format. This format is consistent with past PA Senior Games qualifying events. However, we hope that 2017 will bring back the mass road races event. Plans are already underway to make this a reality.
Both events will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3rd.
No rain date is planned. In the case of inclement weather, management reserves the right to alter and or modify the race to address safety concerns as well as cancel the event. In such as case no refund of entrance free will be provided.
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM
The 5k race will start at 10:00 AM
The race will follow the following format:
No warm up on the track will be permitted once racing has begun. The inside track area will be open to warm up.
Depending on the number of registrations, we will organize the event based on age and gender into groups. Each group will have no more than 25 participants. Results will be based on age, based on the age group rules defined within the National Games guidelines, not the group you might race in.
Start times for the time trial will be 30 second intervals between each rider.
Once one group has completed, there will be a 10-15minute break before the next group begins.
At the completion of the 5k race we will then start the 20k race following the same guidelines and procedures.
At the completion of the 20k race and once the results have been tabulated, winners will be announced and awards presented.
As organizers, we reserve the right to combine and modify the groups as needed. Please feel free to contact Jim Bruno at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, which are non-registration in nature.
Pre-registration fees will be $45. 00 for a single event or $50.00 for both events. Pre-registration closes on August 23, 2016. Race day registration will be permitted. No tee shirts will be provided for race day registrants and the registration fee will be $55.00 for a single event or $65.00 for both events.
